Office of University Counsel
The Office of University Counsel provides legal advice and counsel to the Board of Regents, President, and all University units on matters affecting the University.
This broad function includes but is not limited to:
- Interpretation of federal and state laws
- Contract review
- Negotiating and drafting documents
- Handling internal and external administrative regulatory matters
- Policy review and development
- Responding to open records requests
- Managing all litigation involving the University or its personnel acting in the course and scope of employment
- Resolution of claims by and against the University
- Providing guidance and direction regarding dispute resolution
